Hey, TERA Fans! TERABow.com has published a part II to their Q&A with CM Scapes! Check it out below or at TERABow.com and if you missed Part One you can read it over here!

*** TeraBow Archer Q&A - Part #2 ***

The first one is from a TeraBow member Methallor: I read on the official forums that Archers have the second highest base defense in the game - only beaten by the Lancer (and only by two points) and are one point higher than the Beserker. Can we find out if this is true or not? I find it hard that a class built on range would need such high defence...

Bear in mind that this information is based on preliminary balancing in developmental builds. We’ll provide more reliable specifics on class statistics as TERA nears a release state.

Second is from another TeraBow member, Coeus: How long does it take to cast archer traps? Are they visible by others or only group members?

Currently, archer traps take approximately three seconds to cast. However, like all skills, this is still in development, and it’s highly likely to change as a result of skill balancing. Ultimately, traps will be visible to party members—but invisible to other players—to increase their usefulness in gameplay.

(( this can be coupled in with another question about Traps: Traps appear to play a vital role in any Archer style class, how are they being implemented in Tera? WoW had a time period on their traps which required the player to consistently replace them or catch them before they expired. Will this be the case in Tera? ))

Traps do indeed form an important part of an archer’s arsenal, making the archer more versatile (and deadly) in a party and making solo play more dynamic and varied. The duration of active traps is not yet finalized.

Continuing with the traps, DarkAlexF posted a great idea on the official forums about a trap that could be activated by an arrow shot, or benefit arrow shots. Similar to Braveheart where they put oil on the field then shot a single fire arrow to set the field ablaze? An oil trap for example , that could be activated by a close range fire arrow. OR if the opponent steps over it before activated, he becomes "combustible", thus making you able to use a fire arrow effectively against him. Do you have any plans for such traps or variations of? (From thread: TERA - The Next Generation MMO :: Forums)

Basically, how much can you tell us about Traps. Archers are dying to know!

Whether we’ll see the oil trap you describe remains to be seen, as the archer skillset is still in development. Traps that reduce a target’s defenses or resistances are completely feasible.

The third from TeraBow members is from Hornbury and asks Will Archers have it easier? I highly doubt any company would have one class easier than all the rest, so instead, could you perhaps share one aspect where the Archer might require the assistance of others to complete something? Something that we can't do solo?

All of TERA’s classes will be able to solo to maximum level, but there will be some difficult challenges; for example, some monsters will require a very high degree of skill to take down on one’s own. This is just one scenario where having defenders and healers to complement the archer’s damage output will make victory easier to attain.

Moulded from DarkAlexF's comment on the Official Forum- Is there any way to customize your maximum range, even if at the cost of a other things aspects. So like, you could choose between attack speed and max range.

Maximum attack range is determined by the skill you’re using. While you could feasibly focus on using skills that place you at a certain distance from your target, we don’t have plans to allow for manual adjustment of the ratio between attack range and attack speed.

Tjuba on the Official Forums - Currently I feel that the Archer class feel a bit too spammy and thus do not appeal so much as the melee classes. Any feedback on this concern?

If by “spammy” you’re referring to excessive use of a single skill, rest assured that the developers are working to ensure that the archer class features a range of dynamic abilities, and effectively combining and executing them against foes will require enough skill to present a continuous challenge.

Geno on TeraFans - if i fire the multi-shot (the one where u select 4 targets for the arrows) is it possible to set all the arrows to hit one target? or is there a limit to one at a time?

No, the multiple-target skill you describe cannot be stacked on a single target.

In our previous Q&A, Brian mentioned "Archer skills are more dependent on the distance to the target's hit box. It's critical that a group have a strategy to pin down a monster so the archer can maximize damage." Does this mean Archers are required to be at max distance in order to do max damage? What happens if we fire "too close"? The Beserker interview mentioned how only the blade does damage and standing too close can make you miss, do Archers face a similar problem?

The archer’s range from the target does not affect skill damage. Brian’s quote refers to the mobile nature of monsters: it’s much easier to stay in range of a stationary target than to take aim at a moving one! The lost time and energy spent on even a few missed charge-based skills may ultimately lead to the party’s defeat. It’s also important to note that there isn’t a “dead space” between an archer and target where attacks cannot be executed if the archer isn’t a minimum distance away. However, trying to keep a melee-ranged foe in your crosshairs is harder than it sounds, particularly when it’s knocking you to the floor with its attacks!

World Lore: Velika

Good morning, TERA Fans! Yesterday, TERA's interactive map was updated with the lore of the Human
city, Velika
. Velika is the first major city players will be able to visit in TERA and you can learn more about what you'll experience there from one of our TERA Fans Korean to English translations here!

This new lore brings life to Velika, including a rich history of political drama and war. Enjoy!

Velika: City of Wheels

The human city of Velika dominates the southern half of Arun, serving as the political, economic, and cultural center for the Valkyon Federation. Though it's far from the battles of the Argon front, the war against the Argons is always on the minds of Velikan citizens. Velika's architecture may be as stunning as ever, but rationing, shortages, and crime provide a dark side to life in the City of Wheels.

Though tempered by wartime concerns, the boundless vitality of the city is infectious. Many who visit Velika find it hard to return to the logging towns and farming villages of southern Arun.

The Wheel of Velik, a 500-foot gear in the center of the city, marks the passage of time just as it did when the goddess Velik set it into motion 500 years ago. The central wheel provides magical power throughout the city, fueling much of Velika's industry. The city is also famous for its statuary, especially the many falcons considered sacred to Velik's followers and the 100-foot-tall statue of the goddess herself in full huntress regalia.

History

Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries. When the age of human wanderings came to an end, they sought a place not already claimed by another nation or race.

Meanwhile, the hunter goddess Velik, weary after the Divine War among the gods, built a palace on the plains of southern Arun. She then proclaimed “an end to games of war and plunder” within sight of the falcons that roosted outside her windows, entered her palace, and closed the gates behind her.

Attracted by the notion of a peace enforced by a goddess, human clans began to congregate around Velik's palace. Within a century, a rudimentary city grew to surround it. First in disguise, and later in her true form, Velik began to walk the streets of the city, aiding in its construction and eventually creating the Wheel of Velik that still turns today.

Velika's reputation as a place of peace spread throughout Arun and Shara, and refugees from wars elsewhere traveled there to start their lives anew in the City of Wheels. The new residents strained Velika's ability to feed and house them, and tensions rose between longtime residents and newcomers. Racial differences exacerbated the division; many of the newcomers weren't human, but almost all the "native" Velikans were.

Revolution

The crisis reached a flashpoint when Velika's aristocracy, the patriarchs of the first human clans to settle there, tried to forcibly deport all nonhumans from the city. Protest marches in the new neighborhoods led to mob violence on both sides. In some places, house guards from the human aristocracy marched through the streets, arresting or killing any nonhumans they could find. Elsewhere, ragtag bands of nonhumans gained the upper hand, sacking and looting several human villas.

The violence outside her palace infuriated Velik. As the sun set over the burning city, Velik stalked the streets, ending anyone with the temerity to break her proclamation. Hundreds died on that "Night of Black Arrows"—human and nonhuman alike.

The next morning, the city braced for another day of mob violence, followed by another night of Velik's arrows slaying both sides. A hastily gathered conclave of merchants, previously neutral on racial issues, threw their support behind the nonhuman contingent—a decision motivated equally by prior rivalries with the noble human families and a hard-nosed assessment of who was likely to win. Bolstered by hundreds of caravan guards, the nonhumans expelled the human aristocrats, doused the fires, and set about remaking the city. Everyone held their breath as night fell, praying that Velik would realize that the battle for the city was over, and thus abandon her campaign of death.

Velik remained in her palace that night, which the merchants and nonhumans regarded as tacit approval of their actions. Months of tense, fractious meetings followed while Velika evolved from oligarchy to democracy. Gallian, a philosopher who called an elf "mother" and a human "father," emerged as the city's first leader.

As a child of two cultures, Gallian was well-suited to lead the world's first truly integrated society. From the elves, Gallian adopted the rule of law—laws created through the democratic process, not by a tyrant's decree. From the humans, Gallian took an egalitarian approach: in Velika, anyone was eligible to contribute and govern, regardless of race or creed. Under Gallian's guidance, Velika rose from the ashes of civil unrest to rule almost all of southern Arun.

Velika Today

Five centuries after the first humans settled near Velik's palace, Velika stands as the capital of the Valkyon Federation, the largest city on the continent of Arun, and the world's most important hub for travel and trade. Thousands gather in the agoras in the southeast, where Gallian delivered his legendary "I am a child of Arun" speech.

Most visitors arrive in Velika from the trade gates to the north and west, although the wealthy and the well-connected use the Pegasus platform instead. Many stop to get their bearings under the copper "Welcome Dome" before exploring Velika's canyon-like streets.

Although it's far from the front, Velika is on a wartime footing. New recruits for the Valkyon Federation army often drill in the courtyard south of the Legion of Arms, and officers scheme over their maps at the Garrison Headquarters. The great craft bazaar, the Creator's Workshop, now makes far more swords than it does plowshares. The citizens have grown accustomed to rationing, but that doesn't mean they don't grumble about it.

Finally, the Argon War affects Velika by depriving it of the famous Falconcrest Guards that once patrolled its streets keeping the citizens safe. The Valkyon Federation sent those elite protectors of the city to the front in northern Shara. Now certain dark alleys harbor a criminal element—and perhaps more sinister dangers as well.

Hey TERA Fans! Today I have some great news for our European members!

Not too long ago, we learned that Frogster Interactive would be publishing TERA in Europe. Almost immediately it became clear that the European community had tons of questions for the company. A day after the news, En Masse Entertainment gave a small Q&A, and later we saw an official community address by a Frogster representative but it's plain to see that you guys still have many more unanswered questions!

Today I got word that Frogster has agreed to do a small Q&A for TERA Fans, so I really want to hear your questions! I'd like to have some answers as soon as possible, so I'm going to begin compiling the Q&A tomorrow.

Post your questions for Frogster Interactive in this thread as soon as you can!

Help Mr. Frugal and win TERA swag!

It's a lovely day in Velika. As you make your way down the sidewalk you're distracted by the morning bustling of merchants and bakers, the giggling of children off to their daily lessons and the rhythmic clippity clopity off a passing horse and rider. You take in a deep breath of fresh air, smiling to yourself and the rest of the city, away in a daze when all of a sudden...

WOOSH, SMACK!

A forceful blow to your chest knocks you off your balance. Stumbling backwards, you quickly turn your head to search for whatever flew past you and catch only a glimpse of a long tail attached to a short, stout, unidentifiable popori, pushing through the crowds of Velika at an alarmingly fast rate. You shake your head, trying to steady yourself, and when your gaze falls downward you find the source of the audible "SMACK" you'd just heard; a letter taped to your chest. Moving off to the side, you take it off and study it, squinting at the nearly illegible handwriting.

You think for a moment, then hurry off to the nearest warehouse to immediately find Mr. Frugal's picture staring back at you from a window:
Lore
The great Human city of Velika is the jewel of Southern Arun. Built by Humans in collaboration with the goddess Velik, the city is the capital of the Federation and the nexus of trade and diplomacy, as well as being the center of the struggle for Southern Arun. The landscape is dominated by the Great Machine, which not only powers the city but helps protect it.

Velika is the first major city which players will encounter in Tera. After your first Pegasus ride from the Island of Dawn, this is the city you will be dropped off at. From here, there are numerous NPCs which you can talk to to accomplish a variety of tasks.

This is the place you will start at when you fly into the city, and also gives you access to other cities and villages.

Trade Broker

The trade broker allows you to buy and sell items to other players. There is the ability to search by name and category, to help you find the item you are looking for quicker. There is also the ability to bargain with a seller if they are online. This lets you haggle over the price of an item you want to buy.

Bargaining pop-up box.

When selling items, there is a registration fee equal to 5% of the item's sell price. This is paid when you place the item up for sale, and is not refundable.

Warehouse

There are 3 warehouses located in Velika.

The warehouse allows you to story your items in 4 tabs, each one composed of a 7x9 grid. This allows for 252 items to be stored in the warehouse, along with as much gold as you want. From here you can also send mail, which can be attached with items or money.

Guild Offices

This is where the creation and management of guilds takes place.

In order to create a guild you need to be level 8 or higher, pay 3000 gold, and be in a party with at least one other member who is willing to join. Guild names have to be between 3 and 15 character long (this is for korean, might be different in english).

In CBT3, there were two levels to guilds. In order to level up your guild, you needed to acquire Valkyon decorations and medals. While in a lvl 2 guild, you gain access to the Decorations Shop.

Decorations Shop

The decorations shop gives you the ability to buy special potions only available to member of lvl 2 guilds or higher. These potions grant a variety of 30 minute buffs.

Rapid Growth Potion - Increases experience received from hunting by 5%.

HP Recovery Reagent - You recover 1% of your max HP every 5 seconds and refills HP to full when used.

MP Recovery Reagent - Recover 5 MP every 5 seconds and refills MP to full when used.

Damage Enhancing Reagent - Increases attack stats by 5.

Defense Enhancing Reagent - Increases defensive stats by 13.

Homunculus NPCs

Homunculus Egg Incubator

There are several NPCs associated with the Homunculus in Velika.
The homunculus president is able to tell you information about homunculi. There are NPCs who sell common homunculus eggs and ones who sell the orbs which you can attach to them. There is also the egg incubator, which allows you to hatch your eggs.

Skill Trainers

There are two sets of NPCs who will sell you your class skills.

And magic trainers who sell skills for Sorcerers, Mystics, and Priests. Here there is also a historian, teacher, and researcher.

The place I marked as "Field Mission Officers" on the first map.

There are a few different NPCs stationed at the headquarters in Velika including the commander of the Valkyon Alliance forces.

There are several other shops in Velika which allow you to purchase potions, bandages, return scrolls, and equipment; or to sell your own items.

Good evening, TERA Fans! Thanks to TERA Fans member Airwolfe591 I've been alerted to Ten Ton Hammer's coverage of the TERA team's community party last night at Comic Con 2010, including a video and a screenshot of the updated character creator.

New Character Creator

New Character Creator. Old Character Creator.

This new character creator screenshot contains a few more options than the old one.

Sliders: We initially saw character creation sliders in May via a video released by TERA's official Korean website. In this screenshot they are translated.

Addition of "presets" and "outfit" tabs. While the presets tab may be self explainatory, I wonder which "outfits" you're able to choose!

The adjustment of "details" to "features". This is probably the tab for things like horns and jewelry.

From what I can see on the video, there were two major announcements last night.

Glyph System

The glyph system is going to be one way players will be able to customize their characters.

Glyphs are meant to alter skills by either reducing their cooldowns, adding additional critical chance rate or increasing their damage output.

There will be 20 glyphs available to choose from for each class upon the game's release.

They will be obtainable through questing.

It will be easy to change which glyphs you have activated, but there will be a limit on how many glyphs you may have active at any time.

Achievement System

TERA will launch with an achievement system.

Currently there are achievements for things like joining your first group or dying for the first time.

The system is still very much under development.

Check out the video from Ten Ton Hammer below, demonstrating the glyph and achievement systems!

UI Changes

In the video, you may also have noticed the modified UI. From what I can see, the UI in the video is much less minimalistic, including graphic icons at the bottom of the screen. Here is a comparison between the old UI and the new one.

TERA's Comic-Con 2010 Party

Hey, TERA Fans!

As you know, I was unable to attend Comic-Con 2010 this year, so I've been trying to find information on what the TERA party was like over there! So far, I've found one personal account of the party from user Silveredge on the official forums, in the party thread.

Silveredge seems to have had a fantastic time, as you can see here!

Quote

The Devs really know how to organize an event. They know who their community is; first official event I've ever seen hosted at a full bar. The Gamers have grown up, the Polls about the age groups did not lie. On a side note this was the first gaming company I've seen that did not go light on the catering at their event, most don't even have catering. And by the way, no joke, drinks were on the House! The walls were awash in TERA, game content was playing on all of the screens.

They had the works: piles of hawaiian barbeque kebabs steaming in enclosed food warmers with great sauce, quality sliders, and they had some other wraps that you could make, I didn't try the wraps as I'm not really a big eater.

It's not every day you find yourself having shots with the PR guys and the Community Managers. I have to say the setting for this event was very different and quite frankly made me feel at home. It was like we were drinking beers and downing shots with friends, playing our favorite MMO. And thats what I look forward to.

Then he gets into the meat of the presentation. He seems to believe that some of the character models and maybe even the UI have recently been updated. I wonder if the client at Comic Con is different from the client that was used at E3 because I had not seen a change in the UI.

Quote

They shared quite a bit of info on character creation, character customization, achievements, glyphs, and more. We also got to see the latest UI for the game. Hopefully they will post it up for you guys or share it with a site like terablah. I was concerned that the UI would feel detached from the game but it feels natural. It was reassuring when I saw that you could do what you wanted with the UI.

The most recently updated player models were a fair bit richer in detail than the models that are shown on the fan sites. The Human Males in particular look a lot better then I thought they did in the past. Which is a good thing for me, I had planned on playing one and still do. They could have been running it with higher specs then wherever the models on the fansites came from. But the graphics in action did not disappoint.

Very impressed with the effort put forward by the PR team and the Community Managers, Scapes is a great guy, glad I got to meet him and the rest of the guys. Even the CEO was present. The dedication and support shown by this company is very apparent. I didn't win a prize from the drawing but we all walked away with some Tera T-shirts and posters. Thanks guys.

I expect we'll get some official coverage of the event from a community manager today or Monday! I'll repost it as soon as it's up, so keep an eye out.

Hey TERA Fans! Recently, fansite World of TERA had the chance to interview BrotherMagneto. They asked lots of good and interesting questions, specifically touching on the mysterious political system and PvP!

Check it out below or at WorldofTERA.com!

Quote

Q: How was E3 2010, did you go in with a set goal in mind, and do you think you achieved that goal? Also, what expectations do you have for Comic Con in San Diego?

A: E3 was great! Our goal was to introduce TERA to a wider gaming audience, and we succeeded admirably. We already had some visibility in the MMO community, but often people weren’t very familiar with the game even if they knew the name “TERA.” So, we set out to change that, and change it we did.

Comic-Con is a bit of a different experience because it’s a wide consumer show as opposed to a more focused industry show. For Comic-Con, we want to get as many people as possible to try TERA and experience firsthand what makes it different and unique from other MMOs. Of course, in a show with 150,000 attendees and a huge convention hall it’s even harder to make a splash, so we’re not looking for huge media coverage (although we’re not turning it down either!). Rather, we want people to see the game at our booth, say “hey, this looks interesting,” and then give it a try.

On the community side, we’ve got a fun event planned for Thursday, July 22 (Check out our RSVP thread the TERA-Online forum here: http://www.tera-online.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7854). We've heard the comments that we haven’t given you enough details about the game, and we plan to change that at our party. Prepare to hear some new, previously undisclosed details about the game!

Q: Could you please give a brief description of your role at En Masse?

A: I’m the Community Director here, which means that I plan out community stuff at a more strategic level, similar to a marketing or PR director. It’s a great position for me because I can bring a lot of my PR experience to bear on an industry and game that I love. Plus, it allows me to get back to doing some of my favorite aspects of community work that I did in my past positions with WizKids and Edelman for Xbox.

Q: How will the minimum system requirements handle having large amounts of players on screen?

A: According to the data from our focus group tests, there shouldn’t be a problem with large numbers of players and mobs onscreen, even if a player meets only the minimum required specs.

Q: How has the information gathered from the previous Focused Group Testings been used to improve the overall game?

A: There have been improvements in many areas! We played a new build recently, and the changes even within this short timeframe have been remarkable. The early areas are more streamlined, the Island of Dawn quests flow much better, mob placement has changed, and the new skill system we’ve talked about has been implemented for future testing. There have been smaller changes too—improved textures, new models, and a facial features slider that makes characters far more customizable than before. A lot has been added and changed, and we’ll start showing more of these changes soon.

Q: With all races starting on the Island of Dawn, how will the mass-rush of players on launch be handled? How will players become immersed into their race without starting in a unique zone for their race?

A: Channels will help regulate the launch rush and keep server loads balanced. Once you get off the Island of Dawn the world opens up considerably, so players can start stretching their legs and delve more deeply into the lore of each race.

Q: How will item trading be handled? Will items end up having a Bind on Pickup, or will all items be trade-able even after you equip it?

A: We are still tweaking this system, so please pardon my somewhat vague answer. The final release of the game will feature a form of binding. That said, we want to encourage crafting and trading as much as possible because the in-game economy is extremely important, so we’re currently working to find a suitable balance.

Q: Are there any features in the game currently, that allows a player to take his current equipment and 'enchant it' in order to make it stronger or more suited for a specific purpose (such as a healing/damage increase, or a tank enhancement)?

A: Yes, there is an enchantment system in place for items.

Q: How many players can we expect to be in instanced-raids? Will there be multiple raid sizes, or will it stick to just one?

A: The game is being balanced for five-person groups, although that number could feasibly vary among players. After launch we’ll begin adding raids for larger groups.

Q: How much freedom is given to the players with the political system? Are there any limitations that players will encounter?

A: I suppose the level of freedom will in some part depend on who gets elected. Some leaders might be benevolent, while others might become outright tyrants. Some who start with the best of intentions will probably end up tyrants. In other words, it’s going to be a bit like real politics.

Q: How much of an affect will the political system have on the Economy, PVE and PVP of a server?

A: A lot, not a lot, and a medium amount, in that order. PvP will influence the political system more than the other way around. Think Aaron Burr and Alexander Hamilton, but on a much larger and more common scale.

Q: Previously, you answered a question about the declaration system and whether or not it would apply to PVP servers. The answer was it will be examined in the FGTs and upcoming betas. A lot of forum users who support full PVP servers are worried about this declaration system limiting them. Do you have any more information on whether or not the declaration system is going to be applied on PVP servers?

A: The declaration system is still under development. I can’t share anything new at this time, because we haven’t finalized it yet. Sorry!

Q: What kind of risks / rewards are going to be associated with PVP?

A: Political power, fame, money, treasures, land. All the good things in life.

Q: Will player clipping be a factor in PVP? For example, a group uses archers and staggers them behind lancers in which melee players would have to "break through" the melee in order to reach the ranged DPS.

A: The short answer is yes, and the example you gave is an apt one. Lancers are designed to create damage-mitigating shield-walls to cover their allies.

Q: What is your picture for large scale PVP?

A: Well, there’s open PvP, of course, which big groups can use ad-hoc, and battlegrounds that allow for some fun group PvP options. There’s also something very large-scale and very epic that's never been done before . . . but unfortunately, I can’t talk about that yet. Stay tuned for more details!

Letter to the Community by a Frogster Representative

Good morning, TERA Fans! Today, Frogster Interactive's Director of Project Management, Danatros took to the official TERA forums to address some of the community's concerns about the news that Frogster will publish TERA in Europe. He directly addresses the topics of TERA's European subscription model, censorship, server hardware, customer service, and community management.

Possibly the best piece of news to come from this community address occurs in the final point, where Danatros explains that Bluehole Studio, En Masse Entertainment, and Frogster Interactive plan to post all new information at the same time so that all three communities will be equally as informed. He also mentions that all three versions of the game will run the same game versions, which is amazing to hear.

Check out the full address below!

Quote

Hello TERA Community,

Before I start to talk about the topic of this letter, I would like to say “thank you” to every fan who is already active in this forum. Everybody here at Bluehole, Frogster and En Masse knows that the community is the heart of an MMO.

For TERA, En Masse will take care of the North-American community and Frogster will concentrate on Europe to prepare everything for a great gaming experience in an English, French and German version. Our combined goal is to support all TERA fans in the best possible way, because triple-A games deserve triple-A services, and that is what we all want to achieve.

After we finished reading all the new threads concerning the partnership between Bluehole and Frogster, we saw that there are many open questions, so we discussed everything within the last days and I would like to start answering some of the topics now and continue within the next days.

1. Free-to-Play or Pay-to-Play
We will publish TERA in Europe in a pay-to-play model. TERA is designed for a subscription model, so the game will be operated as a pay-to-play MMO all over the world. So no one needs to be concerned that TERA will be a free-to-play game in Europe.

2. Questions about possible censorship / PEGI +13 / USK 12+
It’s not our goal to cut or reduce the TERA experience in Germany or any other country where Frogster holds the rights to publish TERA. We won't censor something if we are allowed to keep it in. We love TERA just the way it is, just like you do. We don’t want to change a single pixel of this great game. But I am sure you can understand that we have to stick to the existing law in Germany and other European countries like any other publisher. We will keep you updated on this topic, but so far we believe that nothing has to be changed for Europe.

3. Questions about servers for TERA in Europe
We are working closely with the developers at Bluehole Studio on this matter. This includes specific details about the best possible server hardware for TERA in the EU. Both Bluehole and Frogster want to be sure to offer servers that deliver the best performance for the players in Europe, while En Masse is taking care of this in the US. As the combat system is based on manual evade and targeting, it is really important to choose high-end hardware in order to secure a fun and stable playtime for all customers of TERA in EU, US and the territories covered by the other partners of Bluehole. This is one of the most important parts of the contract between Bluehole and Frogster, so you don’t need to worry about receiving less powerful hardware than US players.

4. Questions about our Support Team for TERA
There will be a special 24/7 professional support team. This team will be in place just for TERA players and no other Frogster games. I really think that a triple-A title like TERA needs not only fantastic graphics and superior gameplay, it also needs the best possible Costumer Support and Community Management available. That is the reason why we will create a complete team separate from all other products in order to have many dedicated specialists available who work only on providing the best English, French and German support to TERA customers. To achieve this, we’ll continue to hire new and experienced staff.

5. Questions about Community Management and information to the players
We know that it is very common for some publishers to deliver information, patches and other stuff for each territory on different dates. Bluehole, En Masse and Frogster already agreed that we will post everything on the same day, providing all users with the same information and the same game versions.
So let me tell you, we are all looking forward to bringing you the best service possible for TERA. You’ll be supported by a team who will be responsible only for you, the TERA community in Europe.

Thank you again, and stay tuned for more information.

By the way, in August there is one of the largest gaming conventions in Europe, Gamescom, so we invite everyone to visit the TERA booth and talk with us if you still have open questions. We’re looking forward to showing TERA to the world and the European player base and answering all your questions.

Kind regards,
