Update 3: Added a twitter news section soon with important tweets pertaining to pre-order!
Update 2: A little more information can be found in the new FAQ EME just released. Basically, all I see of note is that it seems to insinuiate that retail copies of the game may have different bonuses than the digital ones.
They keep mentioning some TBD horse! Haha.
Update 1: At this point, none of the physical retailers have the Retail CE version available for purchase. :(

In addition, En Masse Entertainment released their beta schedule.
There will be five, two day closed beta periods, one open beta, and a head start period for players who pre-order the game. Players who pre-order the game will also have the ability to retain their closed beta characters for the duration of the closed beta period.
Signing up for the beta gets you a chance to be randomly selected to participate and the only way to definitely play in all beta events is to pre-order.
Have a look at the schedule and En Masse's official announcement below.
- Closed Beta Test 1: February 10 – 12
- Closed Beta Test 2: February 24 – 26
- Closed Beta Test 3: March 9 – 11
- Closed Beta Test 4: March 23 – 25
- Closed Beta Test 5: April 6 – 8
- Open Beta Test: April 19 – 22
- Head Start: April 28 – May 1
En Masse's official announcement on the schedule:
Quote
We will be hosting five closed beta tests for TERA starting February 10, each lasting about 60 hours. Those who have signed up for beta have a chance to be randomly selected to participate in single events. Players who pre-order TERA will gain access to all five closed beta tests and be allowed to retain their characters and their progress for the duration of the closed beta period.
TERA's open beta test starting on April 19 will be open to all who sign up. Finally, the Head Start is an event exclusively for players who pre-order TERA , taking place the weekend before TERA's launch on May 1. There will be no non-disclosure agreement (NDA) during any of these events so feel free to screenshot, film, and write about your experiences and share them with your friends and guildmates!

BTW nice constructed topic Amira ^^ <3
Anyway, when will they remove the preorders? 28th of April?
I can't find anywhere that explicitly states when the preorder period ends, but I would assume it ends on or just before the first day of the head start.
All of that can be discussed in here, I locked the other threads so that instead of having two or more on the subject, we'd just have one. The thread is also still being worked on, with more details being added.

Yeah, I am thinking pre-order will be up until the release date. Can't wait.. just need to get the cash together. Ah the life of an obsessed MMO addict. >_>
I wish the forums were up, because it would be nice to get some clarification on whether or not those who participated in previous events like the FGT and CPE will also be able to keep their characters and progress throughout the beta period. Not that I won't pre-order anyway, but I might want to pre-order from somewhere besides the EME store...
I can't even pre-order, because every time I try to log in, the site gives me an error that says "Failed to generate device signature." Maybe they're just getting slammed.

I am a personal fan of Amazon when it comes to pre-ordered. Have had a BAD experience with Best Buy on the latest MMO I purchased.

They list the other retailers, sure, but the other stores' sites don't say anything yet about getting the same beta benefits that you get if you order through the EME store (i.e. carrying character progress through all the betas). Plus if you order through the official store, you can also lock in your billing plan with the founder's pricing at the same time.
The pricing is actually a pretty good deal--$9 a month for the yearly plan is pretty sweet, so I went ahead and did that. I know I'll play for at least that long anyway, so I might as well save myself $70+ in the long run!

Believe EME's post on their website is the "guideline" for all stores. Because why would a store keep the beta benefits etc? Wont really make them sell more. :) And yeah the monthly plans are nice, reduces the cost quite a bit in the long run but it wont be there after the game launches, so gogo people :D
I noticed that, Klicious x______x And I already ordered the digital CE because I did not see the physical CE option at first. Bah.
Ughh... I feel like EME should have gave us a LIL more info about this. Now many of us is stuck here thinking 'da fuq do we do now' Since I want the physical CE D:

Can someone please zip and upload somewhere the Elin textures from the korean client? I will try swapping files and check if they are able to detect people who use them. Thanks. :)
Strange, apperently the EU version got 7 days more free play time than the US, Frogster gives 37 days of play time with while EME just gives 30 days :s
We do pay a significant amount more than Americans, so i'd say it's reasonable. Actually for that price difference we deserve more.. But at least it's something (along with some other items)

Ok can agree with that, thanks for the help with paypal earlier :) managed to buy it eventually ^^ had some unverified details, which showed as verified so :)
I hope I get into an early NA beta so I can try the server out for possible delay etc. Or someone with a kind soul who would be willing to lend me half an hour on theirs ^^ Either way, im going for the digital collectors edition, possibly with a 3month subscription.
But why do EU people get beta access while NA dont? ._. Anyone?
