UPDATE:

May 11, 2010

Mostly just confirmation changes on the table. They were verified with recent videos. Also, added an "average" row so you can see how your class' stat compares with the rest of the field.
************************

I know I've seen a post around here (or maybe at TERA-Online) that had all the classes and their respective starting stats. It's a long list and it was tough for me to do any comparisons. So, I put that great info into a spreadsheet (thanks to the original poster!).

Hopefully this makes it easy for everyone to compare what the highest/lowest stats are, discuss balance, and to get a better idea of the different resistances, attack speeds, etc. that make up the TERA mechanics.

Ah great tnx. At the first look what doesn't fit for me is the warriors health. I think the warrior is the kind of "sin/rouge" class of the game and the lancer is the main tank class, so he should naturaly have the highest health and so on (based on the classic mmo formula  ) But i understand this things can still change.

Well, given the Warrior is supposed to be the off-tank (or main tank in a non-Lancer group), and has an ability to increase his threat, I guess the higher health balances out the much lower armor.

For me though, it still is "weird" given I though they were the dual-wield "Assassin" class, too. :) That said, I guess it does help differentiate them a bit from the Slayers/Berserkers, which, for me...seem completely redundant. Why would you choose a Slayer over a Berserker and vice versa? They're both melee DPS with 2H weapons.

They currently have no stealth skill. And I doubt they are going to implent it either.
So I doubt it's any close to sin/rouge. It just has dual wield, it's rather similar to the Gladiator in Lineage II (Who has also dual wield but without stealth)

I think berserkers are aimed towards high single target dps with slow movements and strong armour.
Slayers are more like aoe dps, faster attacks and lighter armour. I may be wrong though.

Dual-wield + they do have poison application/DOT; I think those two things leave people thinking they're going to be Assassin-like.

Yeah, that's definitely my assumption. I don't know if 1 hit = 2 swings since they're Dual-Wield or not though.

http://www.youtube.c...h?v=jQIXQ97EEfg

In looking at that vid, it appears she's using both swings in about a second, not getting two full attack skills in every half second.

After my 10years of MMOs I've played I never linked DOT/Posion/dual-wield with Rogue/Sin, only stealth :) but it's obvious every person has a different perspective/view on each class.

Which MMO had Assassins not using poison? :) I guess CC is another thing I always linked with them. :)

Always interesting to me to see the various perspectives. It's what makes an MMO community in general to me fun to be a part of.

The wiki has a stat page, but since there are still some red-links (=missing pages) we aren't publishing it yet. Thanks to Byph for helping us and creating that amazing page. TeraFans Wiki - Statistics_ComparisonClass Comparison

That question you ask tells me you didn't get my point of view :) Also my thoughts weren't limited to MMORPGs only, but to MORPGs as well, such as Sacred 2. For example someone makes a Seraphim with Dual wield skill, she hasn't any poison attack, still people calling it a Seraphim assassin (while other people just called it DW-Sera). So it depends on the people imagination and what they make of the class itself. It's just the community who generally accept DOT + posion + dual wield = sin. But what is a Sin/rogue without stealth or any ambush skill: dead meat :) Thus you can't truly be a sin without that skill. In every MMO I played the sin had a stealth skill, when he couldn't use the skill he often ends up dead, which is not what an Assassin would be.
Now you can counter my perspective by bringing up Assassins creed, who don't truly have "stealth" skill, yet it does have it, but indirect: Blending (merging with the crowd rendering you invisible to guards), so it does have stealth skills just indirect. Keeping my personal perspective correct in my point of view.

Anyway if you want to continue talking about this, bring it up in PM as this is off-topic.

It really does relieve me that priests won't have to worry to death about status afflictions.

You did say MMO, Vala. ;)

That said, the discussion's really about what may be missing or should be balanced based on the stats spreadsheet.

I don't think Warriors need a stealth given they already have a huge HP pool. The only bit of concern I'd see was the 2M distance. With lag, is that going to cause a ton of the dreaded "You are not close enough to your target" errors? I realize they won't get that actual error, but the effect is the same: difficulty landing their skills. Maybe the fact that they're attacking the fastest will help things land before a larger ping catches up with them?

Unfortunately, you just have to worry about getting hit as the Critical Hit resistance is reeeally low.

Does anyone have ideas as to what the Confusion/Addiction skillsets are?

Yes actaully, I am shocked that the priest crit resistance is so low!! I mean the priest is going to be the one focus fired on! In the end though I think the priest should be able to hold up well against attackers regardless with all their migation I'm just basing this off of the info leaked thus far... so far the future looks bright :teehee:

Indirectly agreed that I did a mistake with only posting the word MMO while thinking MMOs and MO, or rather RPGs in general. *Smartassing for a sec* Sorry

I already experienced that pain with 4m targeting, having a ping of 250+ was already problematic but that's because I played on an US server from EU side. (It happened on Requiem). I'm pretty sure En Masse will set up EU servers in EU.

For the heatlh, it is indeed a huge pool but since they have lower dmg, lower defence, lower resistance. I think it balances out quite well. Probably might need to invest quite some money in healing potions *.*

Even a low ping (under 100ms) has caused problems in Aion, especially in PVP. Maybe I'll count my blessings that I'm looking at Lancer, Mystic, and Priest. That said, given you don't have a target, your skills don't light up when you're in reach and can use them so everyone could have issues targeting.

@HolyAegis - Priest though also gets a bubble and a CC/Sleep spell so I'd think they'd be able to hold out better than would be expected. Their heals are also rather potent and the cast times seem low.

I'm wondering how the resistances work. For Poison/Disease, is it a "Resist = 100% avoid" mechanic on whether or not it gets applied or is it a reduction in damage taken after it's been applied? I assume Confusion and Root/Hold would work as a "100% avoid or it's applied" basis (or with high resistance, are you just going to break free from the Root faster?).

Aion had two different sets of resistances: one lessened the damage taken by that attack type (e.g. Fire Resistance) and the other was a 100% avoidance (e.g. Magic Resistance/Evasion) of that attack type. Anyone able to shed some light on the distinction?

I don't think there will be a magic resist stat in this game, you can avoid magic attacks in the same way you can evade physical attacks, but I hope there will be some kind of magic damage reduction.

Am I right that there will be 3 different armor classes (cloth, leather, chain)?
