Bygeorge has been working on a few different translations about
Velika
, the
Human
city, and these have culminated in a small compendium of information about the city which I'm happy to share with you today! While many of you already know a lot about Velika, this little guide will prove very useful for new comers to TERA or people who just haven't gotten to experience this massive and intricate city in-game yet :]
Remember that all of the information in this article is translated from a few Korean sources, which you can find links to at the end of the article. Enjoy!

The City of Velika

Lore
The great Human city of Velika is the jewel of Southern Arun. Built by Humans in collaboration with the goddess Velik, the city is the capital of the Federation and the nexus of trade and diplomacy, as well as being the center of the struggle for Southern Arun. The landscape is dominated by the Great Machine, which not only powers the city but helps protect it.

Velika is the first major city which players will encounter in Tera. After your first Pegasus ride from the Island of Dawn, this is the city you will be dropped off at. From here, there are numerous NPCs which you can talk to to accomplish a variety of tasks.

Map of Velika
Pegasus Platform

This is the place you will start at when you fly into the city, and also gives you access to other cities and villages.
Trade Broker

The trade broker allows you to buy and sell items to other players. There is the ability to search by name and category, to help you find the item you are looking for quicker. There is also the ability to bargain with a seller if they are online. This lets you haggle over the price of an item you want to buy.

Bargaining pop-up box.
When selling items, there is a registration fee equal to 5% of the item's sell price. This is paid when you place the item up for sale, and is not refundable.
Warehouse

There are 3 warehouses located in Velika.
The warehouse allows you to story your items in 4 tabs, each one composed of a 7x9 grid. This allows for 252 items to be stored in the warehouse, along with as much gold as you want. From here you can also send mail, which can be attached with items or money.

Guild Offices

This is where the creation and management of guilds takes place.
In order to create a guild you need to be level 8 or higher, pay 3000 gold, and be in a party with at least one other member who is willing to join. Guild names have to be between 3 and 15 character long (this is for korean, might be different in english).
In CBT3, there were two levels to guilds. In order to level up your guild, you needed to acquire Valkyon decorations and medals. While in a lvl 2 guild, you gain access to the Decorations Shop.
Decorations Shop

The decorations shop gives you the ability to buy special potions only available to member of lvl 2 guilds or higher. These potions grant a variety of 30 minute buffs.
- Rapid Growth Potion - Increases experience received from hunting by 5%.
- HP Recovery Reagent - You recover 1% of your max HP every 5 seconds and refills HP to full when used.
- MP Recovery Reagent - Recover 5 MP every 5 seconds and refills MP to full when used.
- Damage Enhancing Reagent - Increases attack stats by 5.
- Defense Enhancing Reagent - Increases defensive stats by 13.
Homunculus NPCs

Homunculus Egg Incubator
There are several NPCs associated with the Homunculus in Velika.
The homunculus president is able to tell you information about homunculi. There are NPCs who sell common homunculus eggs and ones who sell the orbs which you can attach to them. There is also the egg incubator, which allows you to hatch your eggs.
Skill Trainers
There are two sets of NPCs who will sell you your class skills.

Combat trainers who sell the skills for the melee classes and for archers.

And magic trainers who sell skills for Sorcerers, Mystics, and Priests. Here there is also a historian, teacher, and researcher.
Headquarters

The place I marked as "Field Mission Officers" on the first map.
There are a few different NPCs stationed at the headquarters in Velika including the commander of the Valkyon Alliance forces.

Assembly Hall Clerks let you accept repeatable quests which are not connected with any other NPCs or storyline.
Field Officers allow you to join battlegrounds.
Crafting Workshop
see Crafting Translation
Other Shops

There are several other shops in Velika which allow you to purchase potions, bandages, return scrolls, and equipment; or to sell your own items.
