Overall review, not being bias:

The mouse looks sweet as ****. And im the type of dude whod want to try sumthing like that out myself. As far as solidity of build, and as a result potentially longevity the RAT looks to be very promising. Also due to one of its key features i feel it can be arguably unmatched in ergonomic prowess.

However, from experience with FGT etc. Id recommend the WoW favorited Razer Naga (Even tho i hate WoW). You want a feature rich macro able mouse Especially for TERA imo, for ease of play and PvP. Now if this is based off of much much more than TERA then its your call. Naga is sweet for customized gameplay without moving up to a gaming pad...which isnt a bad idea either.

I got so confused when I first saw that, but it sunk in eventually and I got to say it looks ******. Though I'll probably end up going with the Razer Naga as well because of the 12 keys at the thumbs for skills and leave any excess skill bar slots for pots and stuff. The Naga is only 20 dollars cheaper, so it's up to you man.

Personally I prefer going to the shop when buying a new computer mouse. Even though, mice of quality standard such as the RAT and Razer are bound to be close to perfection, it's always nice to have tried it first hand before buying it.

I've been thinking a lot of buying a new mouse lately, mostly since my scroll-click button doesn't respond as well anymore. And the fact that my mouse is over 5 years old, 5 years of FPSing, WoWing, generally 5-6 hours of computing every day. :o

Being a MMO-player I have naturally considered buying the Razer Naga mouse, just for the 12 button's for your thumb. I'd love that!

However, as far as a "review" on the RAT goes. I can't say that much since I haven't used it, but it looks kind of over the top if you ask me. If you doesn't have a fairly "standard" hand/palm, I'm not sure you'd even use those screws and adjusters that much. Though the weight system looks nice, the extra buttons and the thumb-scroll looks awesome.

The price feels pretty much for just a mouse. Even so I believe the Razer Naga is kind of expensive as well. I guess it all ends up on how fat your wallet is, how much you spend time by the computer, how much use would you have of the extra buttons etc.

What it really boils down to: More buttons, fairly standard look, a bit cheaper VS A bit fewer buttons, but larger customizability, looks like a transformer.

I'm gonna get the rat7 (not in stock). I was thinking about getting the cheaper rat5 but I want the extra grip pads.

I tested a Rat 7 and to be honest I didn't like too much! Besides, I hate the cable which personally I do not understand it. The gain on cable vs. wireless is 0, especially in MMO.

I like the G series from Logitech although Performance MX (wireless) is as good!

Now you sir, you've made me question your intellect! ;) (Although I completely respect your opinion! But I hate...I hate so much!)

The gain on Cable vs Wireless is always 1-0, any given sitation. Except for maybe business/traveling people with their little laptop or notebook.

The only "gain" you get from having a wireless is, that it's just that wireless. Consider that you are probably going to have your gaming mouse at your stationary computer or office, you are very likely to have some other cables lying around and the room for another one. Not that it takes up much space anyways. You always end up having a large recharging station/dock sitting at your desk anyways, and that's not wireless I tell you that.

You doesn't gain any precision from having a wireless/cordless, in fact, quite likely the opposite.

Loss? Well, batteries. Do I need to say more? They run out, if you recharge them, they wore out. There is simply no justification for having a wireless mouse at your computer desk/office. Mark my words - If you are a gamer, never ever, NEVER EVER, go for a wireless/cordless. Especially if you in to MMO's, which often means long hours of gaming. You don't want to end up having to recharge/switch you batteries in an instance or any given situation.

Now, the gain from having a regular mouse with cable are endless, so I won't even begin listing them here.

However, the G series of Logitech are awesome.

Honestly just looks uncomfortable for prolonged use. Altho its all movable i think the gear on the back would poke into my palm(based on the way i hold it) and the one ontop could be uncomfortable after an hour.

Am i the only one who prefers simplicity? MX518 was my favourite mouse based on ergonomics, currently using a g9.
Replaced the mx after the little badge on the back wore off, was very uncomfortable :p

I've been using a $9 Microsoft mouse for the past couple years.

I might finally upgrade by the time Tera comes out though.

As mentioned "especially in MMO" which are online. The only time I felt that wire mouse worked slightly better was in FPS, offline. No difference, what-so-ever online.

Is clear the draw-back regarding charger and batteries. I always have available and I never had any issues, and normally I change it one per month with a min 3-5h/day play. So, yes, if annoyed of the charger/battery and wanna be green, wire is the choice. I never said that wireless is better than wire as precision. I just said that in game, especially MMO the player will never feel a difference.

Personally I like wireless. I simply take my wireless mouse and keyboard, move 3.5m back for best surround, and play in the 52'' (132cm). Who knows, If I would stay on a 19-21'' display, near the PC, maybe wire will makes sens for me too.
