Once again they dodge most questions... we all understand the game is going through a lot of changes due to westenization but you can't build a relationship with the fans and public if you never even try to appeal to them ...

I believe it does allow you to rebind your combo key.

Yea, but again it's something I could've told you. Combo key became rebind-able in the Dark awakening patch (lv58 increase).

The same 2 guys said the same things about Aion and when that launched there was nothing hugely different or different at all apart from the translation.

I have not played K-Tera but it seems like the general consensus is that it has a lot of problems. I think Aion's and FFXIV's massive failure really smacked them in the face and said "Hey, it's possible to spend millions of dollars and years of development and STILL fail". They, unlike Square Enix, know that the first impression is EVERYTHING when it comes to MMOs. While I am also getting very impatient, I'd rather wait a year or so and receive a quality product when it's finally released, than get another pile of garbage like the last few MMOs I've tried to play.

At least this is even MORE proof that we WILL get the dark awakening patch since he mentioned the ability to customize your own combos as you can see in the picture.

One year, **** that. I'm waiting 3 more months because, by then, this **** should be out. There just isn't a reason for it not to be.

Hence the EVEN more. :pinch:

I say that sounding doubtful because, for example, the 5 second rule.

No, not the one where food falls on the floor.....that's just gross.

Hi All,

I can definitely see your frustration with the interview I gave at E3 and wanted to clarify a few things with regards my answers.

There are a few categories that questions fall into during an interview. The easiest and best for everyone are the ones where we have detailed answers we can give (like this year’s political system coverage at E3). It was planned and we had plenty of time to scope specific questions, run through internal Q&As to make sure we had all the answers, and could clearly communicate them.

Sometimes questions fall into the section of “I just can’t answer that now.” I can’t talk about launch dates or launch patches without giving one or the other away, and we’re just not ready to talk about those yet. This isn’t to keep secrets from you, but because we have to coordinate major news releases across multiple departments within EME and even multiple companies across the world. These kinds of announcements are very well coordinated and tripping up and accidentally releasing info before it’s ready to go out tends to have huge ripple effects, so we just don’t do it.

There are also questions about the game in its current form in Korea. I won’t comment on specifics of the Korean game because it’s not EME’s version of TERA. We haven’t launched that yet, but when we do we’ll be more than willing to talk about the specifics of that game. The reasoning behind not talking about the Korean version is that we don’t know if some features will be tweaked or changed between now and our launch, and it’s just a different version of the game.

At times we also get questions where we have unverified info on how a mechanic in game works. Design documents and feature schedules are great but things change in the time from design to implementation. Until we see it in action we aren’t going to comment on it because the development team may have to change the feature or drop it completely. If we talked about everything in consideration for development we would constantly be retracting or changing features. It just isn’t possible so we take a more conservative and completest approach by talking about the feature once we have verified it hands on.

We always strive to answer everyone’s questions and give it the level of detail that it needs, but there are times like the above situations where for a variety of reasons we can’t answer them right away. When this happens please know that we either will talk about it, won’t talk about it, or are waiting for the right time to release that info.

To show that we do care about answering fan questions, I’ve gone through and picked some questions from the E3 thread that Amira gathered and am working on getting you answers now. Expect a post with answers from me by the end of next week!

Thanks,
-Chris

That is fantastic!

Not only because we get better answers, but just the small gesture of taking the time to post that.

The fact that EME really is so active, not to mention understanding, with the community is assuring.

Cheers man, and thank you for your post!

Now only if you could help me decide what class to make my main...

Thanks Chris! I dare anyone here that is in other Games fans forums to tell me when they see a representative taking the time on writing.

As I mentioned in my post, EME shows the most respect to the user I've encounter so far, and proved that the user oriented approach is not a marketing slogan.

I also hope that you Chris understand the NA/EU community frustration which is mostly generated by the waiting and a bit of jealousy on K-TERA . We took out some steam once with the FGT/CPE but the wait between events is a bit big, you know! With all understanding we all know that the heart wants what the hearts want and when really does that it kinda defies logic!

Anyway, personally I'm looking forward for your answers and I really appreciate your time and effort for it. I also hope that EU/NA will have as soon as technical possible another CFE or FGT event, you know, to bring the pressure down a bit, especially if this time we can feel really progress in the westernization.

Looking forward for hearing from you soon, I remain in the meantime with kindest regards,
Dragos

I find it totally awesome that a representative of EME, Chris Hager no less (!) , gets an account here at TERAFans just to respond to our frustration at the interview that Amira gave. That shows a lot of respect for us I think.

Eagerly looking forward to those questions and answers next week!

Unlike you, I find it embarrassing that a representative can take the time to write up a BS essay and not just answer a couple of questions immediately.

He probably doesn't have the "technical know-how" to give the correct answers.

to be perfectly honest, i've been following TERA pretty closely for the past year and frankly, i just got tired and lost interest in this game.

i've grown tired and fed up with the constant recycling of the same ******** for the past 6+ months. ALL known info comes directly from korea, EME does absolutely nothing.

sorry to say this, but all i see is fail AION management style all over again.

sorry Mr. Hager, EME could and should do better than that.

good thing we have some really nice single player games coming out this summer (Deus EX 3) and Battlefield 3 coming out in the fall.

Yes, it is extremely frustrating that we have a vague ball park figure on release date and yes, it's extremely frustrating that we still can't determined just how much PvP will be in the game (amongst other things) which, for me is pivotal on whether I and the rest of our guild play this game or not.

But, to me it's better than they say very few, correct answers as opposed to reeling off theorycraft and speculation, only to have to retract it (as Chris mentioned above). From a business perspective, making promises to your customers only to break those promises, is FAR worse PR than giving a small amount of solid info to tease.

The way I see it is; they're taking their time since K-TERA release to really westernise the game. We know that Korean (etc) countries have a different mindset when it comes to MMO's, Aion showed us that and I would personnaly much rather they spent the time polishing and balancing the game to avoid another fail like Aion and get the game up to a nice, westernised spec before releasing it.

I really liked K-TERA, but it was REALLY missing PvP content especially at lower levels. If this changes, I'll play.. If not, then I guess it's hold out for Blade and Soul.

well sound like it was fail interview and this post is trying to save something.

anyway many people stop following game since nothing new is coming out for months and EME give basicly same answer in every interview.
Most people that lost interest will buy game to try but they lost the hype so might not keep active account after 1st month.
But be certain that tera is losing players everyday for the lack on news and BS answer in interview.
